Machrie Moor, on the west side of Arran, is soaked through with archaeology going back 5,500 years.
A very obvious feature of the moor is the group of six stone circles set very close together.
Once thought to be a stone circle as the large kerb stones are now the most obvious feature, this was a very large cairn some 23 metres in diameter.
