Achadh-Chaorann Monolith
Standing Stone
Also known as Achachaorunn; Creag Na Cuile
Towards the southern tip of the Knapdale peninsula stands this jagged and slightly leaning megalith.
It is four and a half feet wide, seven feet tall, and only eight inches thick.
It is aligned NNW and SSE and has at least four cup marks on the ENE face.
1/7 Looking southeast across West Loch Tarbert. A hill fort stands on Dun Skeig behind and to the left of the stone.
2/7 Looking south. A few cup marks can be seen on the mid and lower part of this face.
3/7 Looking northwest.
4/7 Looking northeast.
5/7 Looking east with Sheirdrim Hill in the background.
6/7 Looking west.
7/7 Looking west with Loch Stornoway in the distance.
