Cup Marks
Also known as Rock Carvings near Fowlis Wester
Buchanty Hill is a couple of miles to the northwest of Fowlis Wester. Carved into a rock are around 30 cup, cup-and-ring and dumbell marks. Many of these are heavily weathered, but some are very deeply carved.
1/5 Looking southwest over Loch Mealitrodden to the low hill on which two stone circles stand.

3/5 Detail of the surface, with the compass showing south to be up the picture. A dumbell (two joined cups) can be faintly seen at the bottom-centre.

5/5 Many cups can be seen, and a dumbell is fairly clear in the centre of the surface.
