At the highest point of Tormain Hill - a low rise southwest of Ratho near Edinburgh - are a number of rock outcrops and boulders decorated with carvings of varying complexity, including one particularly beautiful example with cup-and-ring marks within the rings around another cup.
Canmore reports that there are 7 decorated outcrops, but actually lists 8. Other sources have claimed up to 12.
One rectangular block has several grooves as well as plain cup marks. Another has four plain cups, but also an Ordnance Survey benchmark arrow was carved into it in the 1850s.
