Stone Circle; Standing Stone
This fine standing stone on a low ridge is all that remains of a stone circle that originally had 12 to 14 stones surrounding a ring cairn. The rest of the circle was reported to be destroyed in the 1830s.
An excavation in 2012 confirmed that there had been a circle here, along with finds from the Neolithic and Bronze Age periods.
The surviving granite stone is about 1.6 metres tall, a little over a metre wide and almost half a metre thick. Two holes have been drilled low down on the southern face.
