Standing Stone Canmore
Also known as Gallant Knowe; Strathhendry

Situated right on the A911 main road into Glenrothes from the west, just over a crest and with very little space for someone on foot to dodge the speeding cars, this stone is best approached with healthy caution and with a mind on the traffic.

Although it is nearly 2 metres tall and just centimetres from the road, it's easy to not notice it driving past as it is right amongst the stones of a drystane dyke.

Canmore has record of a four-stone setting in the area in 1793, and it is speculated that this may be the only remaining stone from that site.
